The instructions posted below are for this seaside pocketfold wedding invitation

This  invitation measures 5" x 7" and requires an A7 (5 1/4 " x  7 1/4") envelope.  The reception card measures 5" x 31/2" and requires a 51/8" x 3 5/8" envelope commonly reffered to as a 4bar envelope.

The first step in creating this invitation is to cut your base cardstock.  Because I am using 12 x 12 cardstock this is a 2 step process.  The first step is to cut a piece of cardstock to 12" x  5".  Score this piece at 2 1/2" and also at 9 1/2".  Your piece should look something like this.  The next step is to make the pocket.  Cut a piece of cardstock to 6" x 5" and attach to your base as shown here.  (You can attach it to either side).  Be careful where you put the glue. You don’t want to glue the pocket shut.   For the base cardstock I used stampin’ up’s kraft cardstock.

The next step is to cut your baja breeze pieces.  They are all 1/4" smaller than the kraft cardstock

You will need the following pieces:

  • 3 pieces cut to 2 1/4" x 4 3/4"
  • 1 piece cut to 5 3/4" x 4 3/4"
  • 1 piece cut to 6 3/4 x 4 3/4
  • 1 piece cut to  2 1/4" x 2 1/4"

After cutting your pieces, wipe your embossing buddy across your cardstock. This helps to eliminate static so the embossing powder won’t cling to the paper where it’s not supposed to. It may leave a slight residue of powder behind but this is fine. You’ll wipe it off when you’re done.

Then ink your stamp with versamark and stamp your images onto the cardstock.  Next spinkle detail white embossing powder liberally over your stamped image. Tap excess embossing powder off and put back in container.  Heat image with heat gun, holding gun approx 4" away. Move the gun slowly around the image until the entire image is embossed. You can see how the powder changes to a glossy look as it melts.

After you’ve finished embossing  you are ready to adhere the cardstock to your base cardstock.  You’ll notice that each piece is 1/4" smaller than than your base cardstock.  Set aside the  2 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece.  We will be using this for the front flap.

The next step is to adher your vellum which has been printed with your wedding information with a very little bit of adhesive at the top center. (You will be placing your ribon here to hide the adhesive).  The size of the vellum is 6 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Using the pieces we set aside earlier, make the tag.

The invitation is finished.

To last step is to make the response card.  Cut a piece of kraft cardstock to 5" x 3 1/2".  Cut a piece of baja breeze cardstock to 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" and adher this to the kraft  .  Attach your response card which measures 4 1/2" x 3" and is printed on whissper white cardstock to the respose card.
