The instructions posted below are for this winter wedding invitation.

The winter wedding invitation measures 8 1/2" x 51/2" and requires an extra large (8 3/4" x 5 3/4") envelope, commonly referred to as an A9 envelope.  The reception card measures 5" x 31/2" and requires a 51/8" x 3 5/8" envelope commonly reffered to as a 4bar envelope.

The first step in creating this invitation is to cut your base cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  You should be able to get 2 pieces from each sheet of 81/2" x 11" cardstock.  For this invitation I used stampin’ up’s night of navy cardstock.

The next step is to cut a piece of brushed silver cardstock to 81/4" x 5 1/4".  Again, you should be able to get two pieces from each sheet of brushed silver 81/2" x 11" cardstock.

Layer the brushed silver cardstock onto the night of navy cardstock.

The next step is to cut a piece of shimmery white cardstock to 8" x 5". You should be able to get 2 pieces from each sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" shimmery white cardstock.

Now we will stamp the shimmery white cardstock.  First, we are going to emboss the two large snowflakes.  Run your embossing buddie over the entire sheet of shimmery white cardstock.  This will prevent any embossing powder from getting anywhere other than where we want it.

Next, ink up the large snowflake stamp using the versamark and stamp twice randomly on the shimmery white cardstock.  After stamping pour your winter white embossing powder over the stamped areas making sure to coat them well.  Tap excess powder off.  Collect the remaining powder in either the powder pal or a piece of scrap paper and pour it back into the container.

Heat the powder with a heat gun until it melts into a shiny cover.

Sponge night of navy classic ink over the stamped images ONLY.  You can also use a stipple brush for this step.  Use a paper towel to buff ink off the embossed images.  The embossed images will resist the sponged ink.  The images should look like this.

Now, using the other snowflake stamps and the ink colors, brocade blue, silver and night of navy randomly, stamp the rest of your shimmery white cardstock.

Adher the stamped piece to the brushed silver cardstock and finally adher to your night of navy card base.

Adher your vellum which has been printed with your wedding information with a very little bit of adhesive at the top center. (You will be placing your ribbon here to hide the adhesive).

Take a piece of white taffeta ribbon and using your night of navy ink pad and a sponge ink the ribbon.  Next tie the ribbon into a bow and adher it to the front of your vellum.

Your response should be printed on a piece of shimmery white cardstock cut to 4 1/2" x 3".  I used publisher to create the response cards.  You should be able to fit four to a sheet.  Layer this piece onto a piece of brushed gold cardstock cut to 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" and then layer this onto a piece of night of navy cardstock cut to 4 1/2′ x 3".
